You, your: Purchaser and/or User of the App

The following describes our use of your data. Loading and running the App indicates you understand and consent to these terms.

When you install the App on your mobile device, it creates a universally unique identifier (UUID).
This UUID is generated randomly and is not based on your identity.
There is no innate connection between this UUID and your name, address, telephone numbers, place of employment, e-mail addresses or any other personal information.
The UUID is saved on your mobile device in permanent storage so it can be recovered and reused by the App.
The UUID is not retrievable nor exposable from your mobile device by legal means.

You can create a nickname, icon and choose the icon’s color as a personal preference.
It is at your discretion whether this nickname, icon and icon’s color are related to your actual identity.
We do not enforce any requirement on the nickname, icon and icon’s color other than that they not be empty.
You can also set grouping & messaging preferences.
These preferences define whether you automatically accept requests to join groups and who can send you messages.

The App provides grouping capabilities as group requests so that users can form groups with other users.
We do not monitor these group requests.
We do restrict group requests to reduce complexity; in particular, measures are taken to prevent complex webs of groups.
We also restrict group requests according to user preferences.
We do not maintain an archive of these group requests.

The App provides messaging capabilities so that users can send messages to other users.
We do not monitor nor restrict the content of these messages other than that they not be empty.
We do restrict message delivery according to user preferences.
Once messages are delivered to the intended recipient, they are deleted from our server.
The App will store messages on your mobile device, up to a specific limit, until you delete them.
When the number of messages exceeds the limit, the App will delete messages, starting with the oldest ones, until the limit is no longer exceeded.
These messages are accessible to anyone who has physical access to the App on your mobile device.
Outside of the App, the stored messages are not retrievable nor exposable from your mobile device by legal means.
We do not maintain an archive of these messages.

Your device contains GPS functionality including providing regular updates of your location as latitude and longitude coordinates.
We track only your most recent location and do not keep a history of past locations.

The App makes use of a remote server to manage the transfer of information.
The remote server is in a secure location and protected by multiple levels of security.
The transfer of information is asynchronous, so we need to store the information until other users are ready to retrieve it.
The information stored is your nickname, icon, icon’s color, grouping & messaging preferences, your current location, group invitations and any messages you have sent.
The storage of this information is protected by additional levels of security.
The nickname, icon, icon’s color, grouping & messaging preferences and current location are needed for basic functionality and do not expire.
If not retrieved, group invitations and messages you have sent expire quickly and are deleted.

The App provides the capability to upgrade.
During the course of upgrading, receipts are generated and validated.
The receipts are generated by the App distributor who encode and/or encrypt them according to their individual policies.
We typically do not attempt to decode nor decrypt these receipts, but instead rely on the App distributor to validate.
In the event that there is an issue with the App distributor which prevents them from validating receipts, we may resort to internal validation using alternate means.
For security, fraud prevention and accounting reasons, we store these receipts permanently.

We provide a web site with web pages for marketing and support functions.
The web pages we developed on this web site are in plain XHTML.
No cookies are generated or saved on these web pages.
Some web pages may link to or embed content of third parties such as Google, YouTube and Twitter.
We have no control of the privacy and information sharing policies of these third parties.
By using these third parties, we are not endorsing nor condoning their privacy and information sharing policies.

We occasionally run promotions and contests for prizes, typically free upgrades.
Because we have no way to identify you, we may request a minimal amount of personal information, such as an e-mail address, to deliver promotional codes.
We may use your nickname, icon and icon’s color to promote that you have won a prize, but will not disclose any personal information.
For accounting purposes, we need to archive these transactions on our system.
We will not distribute this information to any third party.
